Fundraisers
Throughout the year students can participate in a variety of fundraisers. This money goes into a student account in which they are able to buy supplies, pay for field trips, etc. The money they raise this year will be able to be used for the following year.

Click here to fill out a Google Form if you would like to become a part of the School District 81 Music Boosters. Here is a short description of what being a Music Booster entails:
☐ Help with uniforms
☐ Help supervise students before concerts
☐ Attend booster meetings and/or learn about being on the booster board
☐ Help secure donations for Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser
☐ Help sell flowers/cookies/etc. at performances
☐ Clerical (stuffing envelopes, etc.)
☐ Take photographs/video at performances
Student Supplies
All band students will need to purchase the following items:

A ½ or 1-inch 3-ring binder with pockets and with 4 dividers labeled "scale sheets" "music" "handouts" and "other”. This binder may only be used for band. Non-band items are not allowed in your band binder!

A method book (Order form in back of handbook)

5th & 6th grade: Tradition of Excellence Book 1

7th & 8th grade: Tradition of Excellence Book 2

A District 81 Green Music Polo Shirt ($12; order form in back of band handbook)
Each student is expected to have the following items in class every day:

A sharpened pencil

Your band binder including all music and books

Your working instrument

At least three reeds (clarinets, saxophones, oboes)

Cork grease (clarinet, oboe, saxophone)

Slide grease (all brass instruments)

Cleaning swab (all woodwinds)

Valve oil (trumpet, French horn, euphonium, tuba)

Slide cream and water spray bottle (trombone)
Order Supplies
This year, District 81 will be using Quinlan and Fabish as our preferred vendor. The preferred vendor is offered as a convenience to band enrollees. There is no obligation to rent or buy an instrument from this company. They provide instrument rental, rent-to-own programs, instrument repairs, music supplies, etc. A representative from Quinlan & Fabish will come out to District 81 on a weekly basis. They have many locations in the Chicagoland area but should you need supplies, the closest location is in nearby Mount Prospect.
